I’d like to bring to your attention an amateur project by a Slovakian enthusiast I’ve been following for a while. In short, this mad genius is recreating the entire management operating system of the most famous (and ill-fated) theme park in cinema history, Jurassic Park, as seen in the film—complete with screens, applications, and all!
No installation is required; everything loads as a web page in your favorite browser by visiting: www.jpos.jurassicpark.sk. Unfortunately, the fun parts (like managing the tour vehicles or the electric fences) aren’t fully accessible yet, but by signing up, you can still explore the main desktop, use the park’s internal email system (which works!), play some vintage video games (including the 3D chess seen on Nedry’s computer in the film), and even create your own personalized InGen ID badge. Through the internal chat/email system, you can also connect with friends who are also registered on the site.
When the Beta version is released, the project will include a sort of “social video game”: from what I’ve gathered, it will involve recovering genetic code fragments to create dinosaurs better than your rivals. I’m not entirely clear on how it works, but it sounds incredibly intriguing!
I’ll leave it to you to dive deeper into this virtual “prop” and, for the latest updates and previews about the upcoming Beta, check out the Facebook page for this wild, fascinating project: www.2343ec78a04c6ea9d80806345d31fd78-gdprlock/Nedryland.
